WELCOME ADDRESS – APPROACHING A NEW PARADIGM
Addressing the burgeoning crowd of attendees before the ACRP 2012 Global Conference & Exhibition sessions got under way, ACRP Board of Trustees Chair Clara H. Heering, MSc, MSc, touched on one of the hottest topics in clinical research these days – the focus on risk-based approaches to quality management in human studies that is gaining ground across the globe.
"Wherever we live and work, and whatever our role in the clinical research enterprise, [with risk-based approaches] we are facing the beginning of a huge paradigm shift in clinical research… in ways that will almost certainly affect the work of each and every one of us in years to come," Heering said.
